A Petrie woman who had always fantasised about visiting The Lott’s headquarters for a big win has finally had that dream come true!
A $200,000 Instant Scratch-Its win landed her directly in the winner’s lounge for the ultimate winner's experience.
The $15 Crosswords Book Instant Scratch-Its ticket was bought at IGA Strathpine, 451 Gympie Rd.
“It’s unbelievable. We’re still in shock!” she said.
“It’s always been a dream to win a top prize so I could visit the Lott’s headquarters and know what the winning experience is like.
“My husband and I headed down today and it was very exciting! I’m so happy that I really got to do it.
“When I was scratching the ticket, I wasn’t counting how many words I had. When I was almost done, I was thinking ‘Oh my god. This is going to be big’.
“The most I’ve won is $100, which I was pretty excited about but $200,000! That’s amazing.
“Thank you so much. We’re going to put some money towards the mortgage, then maybe keep a little for ourselves."
IGA Strathpine team member Kane Grattan said the outlet was ecstatic to have sold a top prize-winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket to a regular customer.
“The whole team is over the moon! It’s amazing that it was a regular and a very pleasant customer,” he said.
“Our customers and local community will be equally thrilled as it’s an awesome thing to happen to our little store!
“This is our first time selling a top prize-winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket. Congratulations to the local woman and we’re so glad to be a part of your big win."
In FY23, there were 147 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across The Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $12.1 million in top prizes.
During this same time, Instant Scratch-Its players had more than 27.15 million wins across all prize tiers worth more than $252.76 million.
This equates to more than half a million winners a week and $700,000 won on Instant Scratch-Its every day.
The official home of Australia’s lotteries, The Lott operates and markets Australia’s leading lottery games customers know and love creating everyday winners, winning every day.
