Six Brisbane rail lines - including three servicing Moreton Bay - will be closed for major project work and maintenance this weekend.

The closures (May 23-24) will run from the first train on Saturday until the last train on Sunday, with services resuming on the first trains Monday (May 25).

Affected lines will be the Airport, Caboolture, Doomben, Redcliffe Peninsula, Shorncliffe and Sunshine Coast networks.

Stations impacted on the Caboolture line: Bowen Hills, Eagle Junction, Northgate, Petrie, Dakabin, Narangba, Burpengary, Morayfield, Caboolture.

Redcliffe Peninsula line: Bowen Hills, Eagle Junction, Northgate, Virginia, Sunshine, Geebung, Zillmere, Carseldine, Bald Hills, Strathpine, Bray Park, Lawnton, Kallangur, Murrumba Downs, Mango Hill, Mango Hill East, Rothwell, Kippa-Ring.

Sunshine Coast line: Bowen Hills, Eagle Junction, Northgate, Petrie, Dakabin, Narangba, Burpengary, Morayfield, Caboolture, Elimbah, Beerburrum, Glass House Mountains, Beerwah, Landsborough, Mooloolah, Eudlo, Palmwoods, Woombye, Nambour, Yandina, Eumundi, Cooroy, Pomona, Cooran, Traveston, Gympie North.

Translink says on its update: “During this closure we'll be running timetabled railbuses to replace trains to help you get where you need to be.

“Railbuses will run between Bowen Hills to Gympie North, Domestic Airport, Doomben, Kippa-Ring and Shorncliffe stations. Bikes and e-scooters are not permitted on railbuses.

“Plan your journey to find your fastest travel option.”

After this closure, the Sunshine Coast line will be closed from Monday May 25 to Wednesday May 27 from Caboolture to Gympie North.

Translink says normal fares and conditions apply on all scheduled services.

This comes as the network is on a reduced timetable due to protected industrial action - and will remain until further notice.

“Weekday services are operating on a modified schedule, similar to a Saturday timetable, with extra services during morning and afternoon peak periods to support weekday customers,” says the Translink service update.
