Man shot by police at Caboolture

A man has died after being shot by police during an incident at Caboolture this morning.

A statement issued by the Queensland Police media unit said about 3.40am police responded to reports a man had been stabbed in the neck by another man at the intersection of Beerburrum Rd and Commercial Drive.

The offender had fled the scene on foot.

A short time later, police allege they found the armed offender threatening a female member of the public at Margaret St. An officer discharged a firearm and the man died at the scene.

The woman was not physically injured.

The male stabbing victim was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious condition.

The matter is being investigated by the Ethical Standards Command, with oversight from the Crime and Corruption Commission and State Coroner.

Investigations are continuing.
