Mango Hill pays tribute to Anzacs

Dozens of residents and officials turned out last night for the first Anzac service of Moreton Bay’s 2025 commemorations.

Hosted by Mango Hill Progress Association (MHPA), the 126 Australian Army Cadet (AAC) Unit from Murrumba Downs formed the Catafalque Party.

Major David Taylor, Deputy Chaplain AAC South Queensland Brigade, led the prayer of remembrance, benediction and gave the commemorative address.

The Last Post was played by Stewart Boston Dart and Isaac Ruthenberg sang the Australian and New Zealand national anthems.

MHPA committee member Dave Norman sang his song The Silent Anzac and Trevor Ruthenberg was master of ceremonies.

Wreaths were laid at the memorial by Mango Hill Community Centre, where the 15th Battalion Association World War I re-enactment group was also part of the moving service.

The commemoration was held before MHPA's monthly meeting.
