Mask-up at Bunnings stores

Customers are being urged to wear masks at Bunnings stores across South East Queensland, including the Moreton Bay Region in a bid to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Bunnings General Manager Operations Ryan Baker says staff in Bunnings stores in greater Brisbane, Ipswich, Moreton Bay and other regions will now be required to wear masks. He’s asking customers to do the same.

“Our team are already doing a great job working in a COVID-safe way and this is an additional step we can take to help keep everyone safe and help protect against any community transmission in these areas,” Ryan says.

“We’re also strongly recommending customers join us in wearing face masks or coverings too when they visit these stores and we’ll be providing customers with the option to purchase a mask as they enter should they wish to do so.

Is it compulsory?

“While we’re not mandating customer use of face masks in these locations, we appreciate customers getting on board to help protect everyone,” Ryan says.

“This builds on the additional measures we’ve put in place to keep our team and customers safe including implementing extensive physical distancing measures and deep cleaning all stores daily as well as undertaking regular cleans throughout the day.”
