Rugby league legends unite to support Warriors Inspire Logan

Saturday's pre-game fundraiser brought together Warriors and Dolphins legends for an afternoon of stories, laughs and community spirit ahead of the NRL clash at Suncorp Stadium.

Backed by Ausbuild and Logan City Council, the event gave fans the opportunity to hear from some of rugby league's most respected figures.

Hosted by Warriors community manager and former NRL front-rower Mark Tookey, the afternoon featured an interactive panel discussion, player Q&A, raffles and auctions, all supporting Warriors Inspire Logan.

The program, launched through a partnership between the One New Zealand Warriors, The City of Logan and Ausbuild aims to create opportunities for young people through rugby league pathways and community initiatives focused on education, employment and personal development.

Former Warriors player Clinton Toopi said supporting young people who simply needed an opportunity was one of the most rewarding parts of his involvement.

"I come from an underdog mentality, so investing in the ones who may not have all the power," he said.

"I love seeing the hard workers, the kids who have a genuine passion to do better, be better. And I love how they are great humans too."

Tazmin Rapana said supporting the program was her way of giving back to the game that had shaped her own career.

"It fills my cup. Giving back to the game that has given so much to us, and to the people who have given so much time for me to be able to play," Rapana said.

As fans listened to career highlights, behind-the-scenes stories and memorable moments from some of rugby league's biggest names, the afternoon celebrated not only the game's history but also its ability to inspire the next generation.

Fellow Dolphins legacy player Kenny Bromwich said connecting with supporters made community events like Saturday's especially meaningful.

"It's pretty heartwarming for me to come and talk with the fans, the team and share core memories," Bromwich said.

The afternoon was filled with laughs, friendly rivalry and, thanks to Ausbuild, members of the Moreton Daily community got free tickets to celebrate the Dolphins victory against the Warriors.
