Medal haul for North Lakes centre

PK Taekwondo, the North Lakes-based martial arts training centre, struck gold, silver and bronze at the Australian National Championships.

Twelve competitors and three coaches made the trip to Perth and returned with 10 medals – four gold, one silver and five bronze.

Jeffery Park and Amal Warakaulle took the top award in Poomsae, while Yvette Boyama and Alex Hinton won gold in Sparring.

Evan Han collected silver in Poomsae and a bronze medal in Sparring, as did Daham Warakaulle, Amal Warakaulle, Juwon Han and Lawson Gray.

Also competing were Hazel Han in Poomsae and Sparring; Eleanor Gray, Evan Lim and Lucas Garland in Sparring.

The travelling coaches were Kangho Park, Anuke Warakaulle and Pauline Boyama.

Kangho Park, Head of PK Taekwondo, said on Facebook: “Well done everyone who fought very hard until the last second as I wanted and thank you to our coaches and supporters.”
