Medals at junior finale

Hudson Sturges finished the final junior meeting of the swimming calendar on a high note collecting two bronze medals at the Brisbane Junior Metropolitan Championships last month.

The Redcliffe Leagues Swimming Club member took one for the 100m freestyle and a second in the 25m breaststroke. Rylee Smith made the top 10 in all six of her events.

RLSC’s team of seven – which also included Charlotte Bradley, Markus Bradley, Coco Kawasaki, Amelie Hoefel and Mara Hoefel - to 11 top 10 finishes and 23 personal best times.

Top ten

Grace Swimming Club had 41 swimmers and four top 10 finishes from Macey Lawler (2), Tex Copeland (2), three top ten relay finishes and one bronze medal in the relays.

Max Cunningham had gold medals in the 100m backstroke and 100m freestyle and silver in the 100m butterfly and 200m freestyle.

Southern Cross Swimming Club, at Scarborough, had seven swimmers in the championships.
