Moreton Bay Food + Wine Festival tickets on sale
Celebrity chefs Matt Golinski, Alastair McLeod and Dominique Rizzo may be headlining this year’s Moreton Bay Food + Wine Festival, but the region’s cuisine will be the real star of the show.
The trio will be joined by ABC gardening guru Costa Georgiadis in what will be the festival’s biggest program yet.
Moreton Bay Food + Wine Festival is the signature event of the six-week Tastes of Moreton Bay program, and will be held on July 30, 31 and August 1 at Apex Park, Woody Point.
From unique dining experiences, cooking demonstrations, pop-up bars, live entertainment, food trucks, fireworks, masterclasses, and market stalls; the 2021 festival program has the recipe to satisfy everyone’s palate.
Moreton Bay Region Industry & Tourism (MBRIT) has partnered with Moreton Bay Regional Council, Tourism & Events Queensland and sponsors to deliver the event in a new, bigger, COVID-Safe location, which will capitalise on Woody Point’s stunning sunsets.
MBRIT Chairman Shane Newcombe said the new location would give festival-goers room to move and was necessary to deliver a COVID-Safe event.
“We are really excited about the new location, which has big, grassed spaces with shade, giving us the opportunity to create some really special precincts within the festival site,” Mr Newcombe said.
“And you can’t rival the famous Woody Point sunset … there’s no better place to enjoy the best food and drink our region has to offer.
“Joining us across two stages, during the festival weekend, will be some of Australia’s biggest household names including celebrity chefs Matt Golinski, Alastair McLeod and Dominique Rizzo.
“They will be cooking up seafood delights on the Seafood Cooking Stage presented by USC and showcasing the region’s local produce at the Local Tastes Pavilion.
“We are also very excited to announce that the ABC’s popular gardening guru Costa Georgiadis will be making his festival debut on the Home, Garden & Lifestyle Stage presented by Stockland Newport.”
Free launch party
This year, the festival weekend will kick-off with a free Friday Night Launch Party, on July 30, presented by Traders in Purple.
“We’ll be serving up stage entertainment, roving performers, pop-up bars and food vendors, and the festival tipis are returning,” Mr Newcombe said.
There is a limited release of festival precinct weekend passes (entry for Saturday and Sunday), plus a free reusable festival cup with every adult weekend pass, for $30 + booking fee. When weekend passes are sold out, only single-day passes will be available.
Ticketing options include weekend or day passes, Oasis Lounge VIP access and ticket to masterclasses across the weekend.

ABC gardening guru Costa Georgiadis is expected to draw a crowd, when he appears on the Home, Garden and Lifestyle Pavilion presented by Stockland Newport on August 1 at 11am and 2pm.
The host of Gardening Australia is known for his passionate and energetic presentations and will not disappoint.
It is your chance to learn a trick or two from the master, which you can put into practice when you get home.
Admission to the gardening masterclass is included in your precinct ticket.
