Plans have been submitted for an eight-story hotel above a shopping centre in the Moreton Bay Region.

Elanor Investors Group is proposing a 142-room hotel, bar and function facility on the corner of Anzac Ave and Sutton St, in Redcliffe.

In a development application, lodged with Moreton Bay Regional Council, shows a hotel above part of Bluewater Square Shopping Centre.

The foyer/reception of a new Bluewater Hotel would be at ground level, with seven levels above and 64 car parking spaces within the existing basement car park.

Of those it is proposed 29 spaces would be gated for hotel guests, the rest for hotel, bar and function staff.

A bar for hotel guests and the public would be on the top level with a 360sqm function area, kitchen and swimming pool.

Hotel guests at the proposed development of 20 Anzac Ave would have views to Moreton Island.

The plans show public art/murals would be on Anzac Ave frontage recognising “the historical significance of the locality and carriageway”.

The application says: “The proposed short-term accommodation, function facility and bar utilises the existing shopping centre, whilst incorporating uses that will be highly beneficial to the local area.”
