Ningi intersection - work update

Design is progressing to upgrade the Caboolture-Bribie Island Rd and Regina Ave intersection at Ningi.

Work is expected to be completed in coming months with installation of the new signals set to start in the middle of this year, weather and scheduling permitting.

“As a key connector between the Bruce Hwy and Bribie Island Rd, we’re seeing as many as 23,000 drivers on Caboolture-Bribie Island Rd per day,” State Member for Pumicestone Ali King said.

Crossing

“That’s why the $3 million investment in traffic signals and intersection improvements will go a long way.

Ms King said the design included a signalised pedestrian crossing on Caboolture-Bribie Island Rd connecting the bus stop to the Ningi Plaza retail precinct on Regina Ave.

“Design will also include installing new lighting and line marking at the intersection,” she said.

Bike lane

“A green, painted bike lane will also be marked through the intersection to improve active transport.”

“The intersection upgrade will boost safety, reducing the risk of crashes for road users and create significant benefits for locals to access work, shops – getting home sooner and safer than before.

“This project is delivered as part of the State Government’s sixth record road and transport plan, creating 27,000 jobs over the next four years.”
