Plumes of smoke above Brendale as firefighters battle blaze

Multiple Fire and Rescue Service crews are on scene at a fire in a wrecking yard in Brendale, which is sending thick plumes of smoke into the air.
Firefighters are working to extinguish the blaze, which is located near South Pine Road and Duntroon Street.
It is believed a number of vehicles are involved in the blaze.
Local road closures are in place and motorists are advised to drive with caution and to conditions.
Nearby residents are being asked to close their windows and doors and keep respiratory medications close by, if required.
Paramedics are on standby and there are no reports of injuries.
