Police round-up: train robbery, drug-driving charges

An 18-year-old Deception Bay man was charged with robbery and wilful damage after an incident on a Petrie train on September 12.

Police allege the man took a bicycle from a 15-year-old Strathpine boy, who was punched in the face during the incident, which happened at 3.45pm.

They believe when the boy tried to phone for help, the man threw the phone on the ground and stomped on it.

On September 18, police from the Petrie Child Protection Investigation Unit executed a search warrant at a property in Miller St, Deception Bay, where they found the bicycle.

The man was remanded in custody and will appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court on September 26.

Driving charges

A 27-year-old man from Morayfield has been charged with driving without due care and attention, possession of dangerous drug and driving under the influence of a drug after an incident on September 17.

Police from Caboolture were travelling southbound on the Bruce Highway at North Lakes about 12.45pm when a vehicle travelling in front of them cut across two lanes of traffic and veered off the highway, crashing into bushland.

The man was the single occupant and was uninjured in the crash, but police allege they found more than 1.5 grams of methylamphetamine in the vehicle.

The man will appear in Caboolture Magistrates Court on October 26.

Bongaree burglary

Property stolen from a Bongaree house was later found in a shopping trolley in the yard of the property.

Police are investigating the Jasmin Dve burglary, which happened between 5.30pm and 8.30pm on September 18.

A window at the residence was smashed to gain entry and property inside was damaged during the burglary.

Drug-driving charges

Woorim

A 22-year-old Caboolture man has been charged with drug-driving after police conducted a roadside drug test on September 29.

Police intercepted a vehicle on North St at Woorim at 9pm and allege the man returned a positive test.

He is due to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court on November 14.

Ningi

A 19-year-old Bongaree man is due in Caboolture Magistrates Court next month after he was intercepted on Bribie Island Rd at Ningi about 2pm on September 17.

The man was charged with drug-driving and will appear in court on October 24.

Deception Bay burglary

Thieves jemmied a back door to a Deception Bay property on September 17 after failing to gain entry through a window.

They broke in to the Bisschop St, Deception Bay unit between 10am on September 16 and 10am on September 17, searching the premises and throwing property around.

It is not yet known what was stolen.
