Pop-up viewing for major projects

Plans for four huge transport projects will be open for the public to view at North Lakes Community Centre next month.

Meeting Room 2 in 10 The Corso will host one of Transport and Main Roads’ (TMR) seven pop-up sessions on road, rail and public transport plans.

Project teams will be present on Monday August 7, 2-5pm, to discuss the road, rail and public transport projects planned for the Sunshine Coast.

Community engagement as opened on the Direct Sunshine Coast Rail, Sunshine Coast Public Transport project, Kawana and Sunshine Motorway, Mooloolah River Interchange Upgrade.

They form part of TMR's transport solution to help cut travel time and congestion, give more accessible travel choices and accommodate more than 500,000 residents by 2041.

The integrated community engagement approach will ensure the community understands the full picture of the region's future transport network and how each projects connects.

TMR’s community engagement includes a social media campaign, multi-media advertising, letterbox drops and 'drop-in' sessions, for residents to speak directly with project teams.

Scott Whitaker, TMR’s North Coast Regional Director, urged “all locals to learn more about the projects” for one of Queensland’s fastest growing regions.

"I encourage everyone to get involved and provide feedback by August 20 so we can make the coast an even more accessible, efficient and sustainable place for everyone."
