Richard Holt has passed halfway and is “pushing through the pain” on his fundraising Bolt to Borough.

The Ocean View resident knew his eight-day 264km run from Aspley to Maryborough would take him well outside his comfort zone.

He reached Caboolture on day one, Landsborough day two, Yandina day three and Pomona last night. This evening he is due to arrive in Gympie.

“I'm not going to lie, today (Tuesday) was gruelling,” he posted on Facebook last night, “my feet are now heavily strapped but getting the job done.

“Halfway through today I realised I was physically capable of making the distance to Maryborough.

“It was going to come down to whether I had the will to push through the pain...and I do.

“I want to feel every step and conquer the distance, because I know what we are fighting for - Bolting Ahead.”

The founder of Holt Bolt, launched the Bolting Ahead charity in April after almost a decade working with young people of all abilities and those disengaged from school.

He is hoping to raise about $20,000 the hard way. “I’ve never run before … I’m not a runner,” he admitted before leaving.

Richard and his supporters as he prepared to leave Aspley on Sunday.

“If you’re going to do something like this, you’ve got to put yourself out of your comfort zone because a lot of the young people we work with are well and truly out of their comfort zones when they come into our programs initially.”

Holt Bolt started in 2013 with mud runs at Bald Hills. By 2014-15, Holt Bolt had gyms and Holt Bolt kids, inflatable obstacle courses they took to schools.

Richard now has six centres which are at Caboolture, Clontarf, Chermside, Aspley, Holland Park and Hervey Bay. He is keen to expand between Hervey Bay and Caboolture.
