Families in the Moreton Bay Region don’t have to miss out on EKKA excitement this year, with a ‘mini EKKA’ in the form of North Harbour’s Family Fun Festival at Bite Markets this week.
The event, which is on August 27 and 28, and September 3, 4, and 5, will include showbags, strawberry sundaes, rides, sideshow arcade games, entertainment, dagwood dogs and other classic show specialty foods.
North Harbour Project Director Bryan Finney says the festival is a great way for local families to enjoy the excitement of the show in a relaxed environment.
“We’re very excited to be hosting our Family Fun Festival over two weekends after the disappointing cancellation of the Ekka for the second year in a row,” Mr Finney says.
“This event is a great way for families to enjoy all their favourite aspects of the show without battling through the traditionally overcrowded show halls and long queues.
“It’s also the perfect way to spend Father’s Day out and about with the whole family without breaking the bank.”
With free entry for children under 12years, adult entry only $3 and food stalls selling meals at an affordable price, large families can enjoy visiting the festival across multiple nights at a much lower cost than the EKKA.
