The former Frawleys Tennis Club site in Rothwell is set to make way for more than 90 retirement units.

A development application (DA) has been submitted to Moreton Bay City Council for 97 units on the land which currently has six disused tennis courts.

Plans for the 9825sqm block at 56 Coman Street South show three-storey buildings forming a u-shape within the site.

Of the 97 units, 63 will have two bedrooms, 21 three bedrooms and 13 with one bedroom. The development would have 147 car parking spaces.

The Frawleys Tennis Centre, just behind retail outlets on Deception Bay Rd, is reported to have been left unused since 2017.

There are currently six hard courts and one clay court, though the site is not fully visible from the road.
