SES benefits from e-scooter ride

An e-scooter safety ride organised by Redcliffe police and the Scootmasters group has raised money for Redcliffe SES Group to buy equipment.

A raffle, with an e-scooter as first prize, was conducted as part of the activities on the day, raising $560.

The ride, enjoyed by 61 e-scooter enthusiasts, went from Pelican Park to Scarborough and back in November. It was organised to highlight new laws surrounding the use of the vehicles.

Senior scooter marshals accompanied the riders while Redcliffe SES volunteers set up marshalling points along the route, so they could warn members of the public of the riders’ impending arrival.

Last week, Moreton District Prevention Unit Officer in Charge Sergeant Sarah Grayson presented $560 to SES Senior Field Operator Graham Davis, in the presence of Pete Finn and Tony Martinez from Scootmasters and members of the SES group.
