Six of the best for Rylee

Redcliffe Leagues Swimming Club's Rylee Smith was in outstanding form at the 2021 Speedo National Preparation Meet and Jess Schipper Challenge.

The North Lakes resident won six gold medals and a bronze from 10 events at Brisbane Aquatic Centre late last month.

Rylee won the 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke, 200m Individual Medley, 100m freestyle, 200m freestyle and 100m butterfly.

She was third in the 50m freestyle and clocked five personal best (pb) times.

Club colleague Daniel Baker won gold in the 200m freestyle multi class in a personal best time, Barry Pope had a pb in his event and Zaine Vardon three pbs from four events.

The meeting is named after the former RLSC star Jess Schipper, pictured above with Rylee, who won Olympic and World and Commonwealth gold medals as well as breaking world records.

Schipper was at the event which was used by many swimmers to post qualifying times and race practice before the Australian Age Championships on the Gold Coast.
