Snakes' unveil 'massive' signing

Caboolture Touch Association has signed-up one of the sport’s top coaches – Karley Banks, the first woman to coach Premier League in Sydney and Brisbane.

Karley has 35 years’ experience at national and international level which she will use as Caboolture's participation and high performance manager.

“Caboolture Touch Association is thrilled to welcome one of this country’s highest profile coaches,” says president Herb Kerr, who is pictured with Karley.

Massive move

“She is considered the best at developing athletes at all ages. What an absolutely fantastic start to the 2021 season after a trying 2020 with the COVID-19 pandemic.

“That Karley’s role at the club is all about getting people into the sport and teaching them the skills to continue in the sport for longer and perhaps began elites.

“Karley will be massive for our sport in the Caboolture area.”

National roles

Karley has been the head coach for the Australian 20s Mixed, Australian 18 Boys and Australian Men’s 35s teams.

She has also coached the NRL National Touch League Premiership, Elite Eights NSW Rebels, NSW Mavericks and Qld Spirit.

Karley was assistant coach for the Newcastle Knights men’s team and has worked with many other Queensland and New South Wales mixed teams.

Allrounder

She is Australia’s most capped youth coach and has represented Queensland in touch football, rugby league, rugby union, cricket and indoor cricket.

Karley has a Bachelor of Secondary Education majoring in English and Physical Education, a Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Fitness Training.

She is also an Austouch Course Presenter and Trainer.
