Few people would relish the chance to spend time in a police cell or have their fingerprints taken, but a special group of visitors at North Lakes Police Station was delighted by the opportunity.
Moreton District Prevention Unit officer in charge Sergeant Sarah Grayson says a group of clients from Bay One Care Services at Margate had long wanted to see behind the scenes and their dream came true last week.
“It was on their bucket list to visit a police station and see a police car up close,” Sgt Grayson says.
While at the station they had the chance to sit in a police car, have their fingerprints taken, try on handcuffs for size and have mug shots taken.
“The smiles on their faces were just lovely to see,” Sgt Grayson says.
