Students’ grand final glory
Redcliffe State High School’s Rugby League Program of Excellence scored a handsome victory in the Struddys Cup grand final.
The students were always in control with their hard-running forwards setting up the backs who took full advantage in a 30-10 win over Ipswich SHS.
Scott Murray, Program Director at Redcliffe, said the team would be in the top competition in South East Queensland next year.
Early hope
Redcliffe SHS’s Year 9s dominated the early stages of their rand final against Ipswich but could not convert it into points and trailed at half-time.
Despite a strong second-half rally, they lost a close match 18-12, but there are plenty of positives looking forward to 2021.
Completing the finals series, Redcliffe’s Opens team went down 16-4 to Coombabah in the semi-finals of their competition.
Plans are now being drawn up for the 2021 season. Any students interest in joining next year’s program should contact Scott Murray on 3897 1172 or email smurr216@eq.edu.au
