Multicultural students from Australian Christian College Moreton had the opportunity to showcase their culture to the wider community last week by taking part in an array of fun activities to commemorate Harmony Week.

With more than 25 nations represented at the college, Principal Darren Lawson said the college held a special event where students, parents and teachers could don their national dress and be involved in a special performance featuring music and dance.

“We held a ‘Celebration of Nations’ day celebrating all the different cultures and nations that students from ACC Moreton come from,” Darren said.

“Students came in with their flags and national dress ranging from Indigenous Australians to students from six continents.

“Celebrations of song, dance and poetry were performed.

“We celebrated that from one man and woman God made every culture and nation under heaven and they were all made by Him and for Him.”

Held from March 18-24, Harmony Week is an annual celebration that recognises our diversity and brings together Australians from all different backgrounds.

It celebrates inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background, united by a set of core Australian values.
