Suspicious car and boat fires

Caboolture Criminal Investigation Branch detectives are investigating a number of suspicious car and boat fires in Caboolture, Caboolture South and Morayfield this month.

On August 4, police were called to reports of a silver Mitsubishi Outlander on fire, parked outside of a Morayfield Road, Caboolture South address, between 1.50am and 2am.

On the same day, police were called to reports of a silver Toyota Hilux on fire, parked outside an address in Maria Ct, Morayfield around 2am.

On August 10, police were called to reports of a purple Mazda 2 on fire, parked outside of a Torrens Rd, Caboolture South address, around 10.05pm.

On August 11, police were called to reports of a silver BMW X5 on fire, parked outside of a Wilson Street, Caboolture address, between 2.50am and 3.12am.

In all of these incidents, the fires are believed to have been deliberately lit with no one injured.

Police were also called to two instances of the same boat being on fire on Grant Rd, Caboolture South around 9pm on August 7 and 4.30am on August 9.

Firefighters extinguished the boat, that was parked on the side of the road both times. No one was injured.

No complaints have been made in relation to the boat fires.

Detectives believe all the incidents may be linked.

Investigations are ongoing.
