Village bid for top state award
Words by Nick Crockford

Samford Village needs our help in the race to become Queensland’s 2026 Tiny Tourism Town champion.

The Village is a finalist in the Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC) awards which celebrate destinations, communities and tourism ambassadors.

Representing Moreton Bay, Samford is pitched against the likes of Winton, Longreach, Cunnamulla and Cape Tribulation.

Public voting is now open, until Sunday May 24. Votes will contribute to each finalist’s overall score and help decide the winner, to be announced next month.

Stanthorpe has already been announced as winner of the Top Tourism Town category.

“These awards celebrate the heart and soul of Queensland tourism - the towns and communities who create memorable experiences and welcome visitors with genuine local pride,” QTIC CEO Natassia Wheeler said

“Stanthorpe is a deserving winner of the Top Tourism Town category and reflects the strength, resilience and unique visitor experiences regional Queensland offers.

“Every finalist should be incredibly proud of what they represent. These places and people showcase the diversity of experiences that make Queensland such a remarkable destination to explore.

“We know these awards inspire incredible community spirit and now it’s time for locals, businesses and visitors to rally behind their favourite town or tour guide and show their support through the public vote.”
