Performance car lovers will have the chance to see new C8 Corvette for the first time during a public viewing at the Village Motors GMSV Showroom at North Lakes on December 22 from 10.30am-12.30pm.

The mid-engine sports car is so much more than ‘next generation’ – it’s next level.

The Corvette Stingray coupe and convertible have been completely redesigned from the ground up to deliver a thrill on every drive.

Village Motors North Lakes Sales Manager Joshua Brearley says they have sold-out their allocation - four cars - but are taking registrations of interest to be ready when more are available from the US.

Joshua says the new model has been eagerly anticipated since 2019 and he too is looking forward to seeing it for the first time.

“It’s the first mid-engine corvette and will probably be the only one because they’re going electric for the next model,” he says.

“It’s unique and very collectable.”

The C8 Corvette is also the first built for the Australian market, with right-hand drive, and delivered direct to our shores.

It will sell for the high $100,000s through to about $250,000, depending on specifications. There are four models – 2LT coupe and convertible and 3LT coupe and convertible.

Joshua says it is in the same power and drive category as some of the European exotics, for a fraction of the cost.

He says it rivals Ferrari’s F12 and Lamborghini’s Hurricane which are around the $490,000 mark.

About the C8 Corvette

The mid-engine configuration provides incredible responsiveness and driving feel, while new engine placement provides rear weight bias directing power to the rear wheels, where it matters most.

The all-new LT2 V8 engine is visible through a rear hatch window.

Standard dual-clutch transmission has lightning-quick shifts, which combines the smoothness of an automatic with the action of a manual.

This powerful machine is also equipped with a serious command centre. There’s also a performance data recorder and heads-up display to improve the way you drive.

Not to mention, simplified bluetooth, wireless phone charging and Bose Performance Series 10 speaker audio system.

Hiding the door handles and hatch and hood releases creates a clean look and improved aerodynamics.

There’s also keyless entry and start and remote start, and ultra-light 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels.
