About Cashmere

Cashmere is bounded to the north by Lake Samsonvale and to the west by Warner and surrounded by dense bushland from Clear Mountain Conservation Park. Cashmere is mostly a rural/residential suburb, 25km from central Brisbane. Neighbouring suburbs are Eatons Hill and Warner.

History of Cashmere

The suburb name originates from an early property owner, James Cash, who had land on the South Pine Rivers at Eatons Hill and Albany Creek. Cashmere was formally named in 1979 and ‘mere’ is Old English for a lake or pond, as Cashmere’s northern border overlooks Lake Samsonsale.
