Settlement Cove Lagoon | Redcliffe

About Settlement Cove Lagoon | Redcliffe

As the weather warms up there is nothing like enjoying a cool refreshing swim. The Settlement Cove Lagoon in Redcliffe is an excellent place to go for fun (and free swimming. This 95m long paradise next to the Redcliffe waterfront is the ideal place to have a nice day out. It is also open all year round, making it a perfect alternative to pools that during the colder months are closed.

Swimming facilities

The lagoon is split into different parts suited to ages and abilities, making it a perfect place to play for all ages. There is a fenced pool area designed for younger kids only. The younger pool area is well shaded and includes fountains with mushrooms and squirting lizards. In the main lagoon area there are sandy bays along the sides, the water here is shallower and suitable for the little ones. It gradually gets deeper as you go further into the lagoon, so more competent swimmers can have fun.

There's an island in the centre of the lagoon featuring plenty of playing opportunities in the inlets and rocks surrounding this island. A miniature river and riverbed are situated at the very end of the lagoon. There's plenty of room to wade around in and it's a very fun place for kids.

Parents, if you want to relax while watching the children play, there is plenty of room to sit down around the lagoon. Arrive early if you want a picnic shelter or picnic bench, these tend to get snapped up quickly over summer. If you miss out on a picnic shelter there is still plenty of sitting spaces on the hills which are elevated above the lagoon to give you a good view of the kids swimming.

Playground

Right beside the lagoon is an awesome shaded children’s playground. This playground includes a sand play area, swings and a slide.

Lunch at the Lagoon

BBQs are also available for use, making the lagoon a great all day family adventure. Or if you prefer to buy food you have plenty of choices to choose from, just above the Lagoon is Redcliffe Parade. Along Redcliffe Parade, there are plenty of takeaway shops selling a variety of meals and snacks. Find a Redcliffe Eat and Drink venue here.
