A Kippa-Ring woman who’s been looking for a new home in the challenging property market is ready to make that dream a reality after winning $1.9 million in Gold Lotto.

The Queenslander held one of the three division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4229 on Saturday and took home $1,937,209.61.

An official from The Lott spoke to the winner immediately after she checked her ticket this morning and discovered her million-dollar win.

Gobsmacked

“When I was on my way to work this morning, I ducked into the newsagency to buy a few things and to check this Gold Lotto ticket,” she said.

“When the lady told me I’d won $1.9 million, I was absolutely gobsmacked. I could barely stand up and I wasn’t making much sense.

“I just kept saying to her, ‘Are you kidding me? Please don’t tell me this is a joke!’.

“I wanted to be pretty discrete about it all, but I let out a little scream and yelled, ‘Holy sh**!’.

“It’s absolutely brilliant. I can’t believe it! I’m still in shock now.

“Ah, I can’t believe I’m a millionaire. It’s crazy! It’s a dream! I don’t know how this is going to sink in.

“Today’s going to be a weird day. I’m still going to go to work, so there won’t be much celebrating, but I’ll be in an extremely good mood.

“The timing couldn’t be better either. I’ve been desperately looking for a house, but it’s so difficult to buy or rent in this current market.

“I’ve been so stressed about it all, but this just takes away all of those pressures. I can buy a house now! And not just any house, a really nice house!

“I’ll have to start house shopping tonight.”

How exciting

The life-changing entry was purchased at Redcliffe Dolphins Discount Drug Store, Shop 5, 110 Ashmole Road, Kippa-Ring.

Redcliffe Dolphins Discount Drug Store manager Alycia Whalley said her entire team was thrilled the winner had claimed her prize.

“How exciting for our winner! It’s a life-changing prize,” she said.

“This is the first division one winning ticket we’ve sold, so it’s a big moment for us. Our entire team is thrilled to have made one of our customers a millionaire.
