Activities to celebrate Youth Week in Moreton Bay

Moreton Bay City Council is hosting events to celebrate Youth Week from April 6-12.

Youth Week is a statewide celebration of young people from 12 to 25 years of age, showcasing their talents and contributions, and giving them the chance to take part in events and to share their points of view.

Here’s a list of activities Council is running during the week.

Moreton Youth Week Fishing Competition

April 5-13

Grab your tackle and bait and clean those cameras because the Youth Week online fishing competition is back.

Cast your line and snap a picture for your chance to win a share of more than $2000 in prizes. The competition is open to young anglers aged 12 to 25 years living in the City of Moreton Bay.

You can fish anywhere that is land-based in the City of Moreton Bay and will need to upload a photo of your catch to the 2 Bent Rods app. The competition categories are bream, whiting, flathead, carp, tilapia, ‘mystery species’, and rubbish.

Moreton Bay Youth Week Online Song Competition

April 6-12

Open to young artists aged 12 to 25 years living in the City of Moreton Bay, this competition is your stage to shine. Choose from three categories:

Best original song - share your own lyrics and melody.

Best cover song - show off your voice and musicality.

Best rap song - drop your best bars.

You can enter one, two or all three categories. Winners will share in a $1000 prize pool to spend at local music stores.

Amazing Moreton Bay Challenge

April 6-12

Join the Amazing Moreton Bay Challenge this Youth Week. Get your friends together or take on the adventure solo. It's your chance to explore, compete and win.

Complete tasks across the city, visiting landmarks, solving puzzles and taking photos along the way.

Each challenge earns you points, and once you hit 100 points, you can enter the draw to win a Nintendo Switch.

Bribie Big Arvo

April 8

Grab your mates, pack a picnic blanket, and head to Brennan Park for an afternoon of fun.

Get ready for:

• free food and drinks
• games and friendly competition
• live music and chill vibes
• workshops to get creative

PCYC ColourXplosion Fun Run 

PCYC Pine Rivers will host a Colour Xplosion Fun Run at Les Hughes Sporting Complex, Baker St, Bray Park, on April 5 from 12.30pm. This community event will bring together people of all ages to run or walk a fun-filled 5km course, where participants will be showered in a rainbow of colours along the way.
It's an all-ages, non-competitive event aimed at fostering community spirit, wellness, and inclusivity.
