A partnership between developer and builder Ausbuild and the New Zealand Warriors during the 2022 NRL season has been a win for the Moreton Bay Region community.
More than 1200 essential workers and their families from the region were given the opportunity to join Ausbuild in cheering on Warriors during their ‘home away from home’ games at Redcliffe’s Moreton Daily Stadium.
The families were gifted the experience as part of a sponsorship deal between the NZ Warriors and Ausbuild, which was inked in March this year to deliver a range of community-focused initiatives including school programs, local events, and fundraising for charities in the Moreton Bay Region.
As part of the deal, Ausbuild honoured community organisations and partners during the Warriors six ‘home’ games including the local State Emergency Services (SES), Rocksberg Moorina Rural Fire Service, and students and teachers from Bray Park and Morayfield State High Schools.
The special guests all performed a guard of honour on the field before being invited to enjoy the game with family and friends.

Grateful for support
New Zealand Warriors Chief Executive Officer Cameron George says the club has a large fan base across South East Queensland and has been humbled by the support of the local community who attended the games at Moreton Daily Stadium.
“We were welcomed to the community with open arms, and this was incredibly important for the team, who played the last three NRL seasons – 1038 days in fact – away from Mt Smart Stadium in Auckland,” Mr George says.
Ausbuild Joint Managing Director Matthew Bell says the relocation of the Warriors to Redcliffe brought A-Grade NRL to the Moreton Bay Region and with it, a sense of optimism, excitement, and celebration of the sport.
He says the company has been proud to honour the incredible role essential workers play across the region – an area the company feels closely connected to.
“Community is everything, and the dedication of our SES volunteers, fire fighters and teachers epitomises what true community spirit is all about,” Mr Bell says.
Established in Redlands in 1988, Ausbuild is Queensland’s largest privately owned community developer and home builder. The company is currently delivering two master-planned communities in the Moreton Bay Region, The Sanctuary at Warner and Montrose at Morayfield.
