Billy Limov’s return to the ring, after a four-year absence, is gathering pace.

The Deception Bay Boxing Club middleweight won his second bout in four weeks, with a unanimous decision from the judges over Dimps Gillies at the Eatons Hill Hotel on Saturday.

His trainer Damian Smith said the Redcliffe-based fighter would now “keep busy” and fight again before the end of the year.

“It was the result we expected,” said Smith, “but not having to work so hard!

Tough opponent

“Dimps was a tough fighter. He’s very fit and really came back into it in the last two rounds.”

But, he could not catch Limov, 33, who had stopped Kolby Johnson in Townsville on June 26 in his first comeback fight.

Ethan Law, who trains at Deception Bay Boxing Club, will be back in the ring on September 11 at the Gold Coast Convention Centre.

Law, who is with Dwayne Tindall of BodyShot Boxing in Caboolture, will be defending his Australasian middleweight title.
