Team members from Bunnings Rothwell have been thanked for their generosity after donating goods to the Redcliffe State Emergency Service (SES) during February’s wild weather and floods.

Knowing the crew would be working in wet and dangerous conditions, Bunnings staff reached out to the SES to ask what they needed to ensure they could continue assisting people in need.

With a shopping list in hand, they were able to quickly grab the necessary items off the shelves and drop them off to volunteers a few short hours later.

Bunnings Rothwell Activities Organiser Selena Stonebridge said the store was glad they could contribute to the recovery effort.

“After the recent floods, we got in touch to ask how we could help and donated essential items like towels and blankets, alongside a few snacks to help fuel the SES volunteers who have so generously been supporting our community,” Selena said.

“Our team have been lucky enough to support the Redcliffe SES for several years now, providing product donations and often hosting them in store where they provide great displays to engage the local community.”

Showing their appreciation

To thank the store for their contributions, Selena and the Complex Manager Lesleigh Lepomme were awarded certificates of appreciation from the Redcliffe SES.

A Redcliffe SES volunteer said “the support from Ms Stonebridge and Bunnings Rothwell management did not go un-noticed by the Redcliffe members”.
