Entries have opened for the 2024 Moreton Bay Business & Innovation Awards, with two new categories on offer and an opportunity for customers to nominate their favourite businesses.

Now entering its seventh year, the awards presented by Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism (MBRIT) continue to be the highest accolade for businesses and individuals within the City of Moreton Bay.

MBRIT CEO Natassia Wheeler says the awards provide an important platform to acknowledge excellence.

“The Moreton Bay Business & Innovation Awards offer a unique opportunity for businesses and individuals to celebrate their successes,” she says.

“These awards not only recognise achievements but also provide a platform for elevating brands, gaining recognition, and showcasing the remarkable work being done within our community.

“We're excited to introduce a nomination initiative, inviting members of our community to nominate outstanding businesses or individuals for the 2024 awards. This initiative further extends the reach of these awards and ensures that deserving entities receive the recognition they deserve."

This year, there are two new categories - New Business Excellence and Young Achiever of the Year.

Businesses and individuals based in the City of Moreton Bay are encouraged to get involved, with a diverse range of categories on offer including Accessibility & Inclusiveness Excellence, Customer Service Excellence, Entrepreneur of the Year and more.

Moreton Bay City Council Mayor Peter Flannery says the Moreton Bay Business and Innovation Awards are a favourite event because they celebrate the city’s best, brightest, and most innovative businesses.

“I’m exceedingly proud of the high calibre of local business leaders who ‘put their hat in the ring’ to be recognised for the world-class excellence and leadership which City of Moreton Bay attracts and exemplifies,” he says.

“This year there is a new category for ‘new business of the year’ which seeks to recognise the groundbreakers, innovators, and disruptors amongst the almost 4,500 new businesses joining the rapidly growing City of Moreton Bay business community each year.”

IntegratePHYSIO co-director Sam Bhojwani, whose business won 2023 Business of the Year, says any business can succeed at the awards.

“We were not expecting to win because there were so many amazing local businesses,” he recalls.

“As a business, we are constantly trying to evolve and grow within the region.”

Nominations for the 2024 Moreton Bay Business & Innovation Awards are now open and free to enter. The awards are proudly presented by Moreton Bay Region Industry & Tourism and supported by the City of Moreton Bay.
