Redcliffe Leagues Softball Association is about the step up to the plate with a new $4.8 million clubhouse.

The clubhouse at Talobilla Park will have two changing rooms, an umpire room, amenities, first aid room, office, clubroom, internal storage and kitchen.

Construction is expected to start at the Kippa-Ring sports centre in mid-2025 and take 12 months to complete.

It is being jointly funded by City of Moreton Bay and the Australian Government’s Thriving Suburbs Program.

“This funding is a real win for our softball community, showing the Australian Government’s confidence in Moreton Bay as one of South-East Queensland’s fastest-growing cities,” Mayor Peter Flannery said.

“Delivery of this new infrastructure means we can focus on attracting high profile sporting events to our city and elevate our role as a key location for softball and baseball competitions.

“The new clubhouse will provide amenities and club facilities, supporting over 700 members in the Redcliffe Leagues Softball Association and attracting even more people to the sport.”

Assistant Minister for Regional Development and Senator for Queensland, Anthony Chisholm facilities like the new clubhouse build stronger connections.

“Sporting clubs provide space for locals and visitors to come together, stay active, and enjoy everything community sport has to offer,” he said.

Councillor Sandra Ruck (Div 5) said: “This upgrade will support local players and volunteers, ensuring the sustainability of the club as it continues to serve a growing number of residents.”
