Community events going to tender

Moreton Bay City Council will be inviting tenders to deliver 37 community events a year at venues across the region.
The tender, comprising three sections, includes 13 “signature” events and 24 "precinct" events. All to be free to attend.
Contract/s will run from March 1, 2026 to June 30, 2029, with a possible three-year extension to be decided at Council’s discretion.
Annual signature events include:
- The Hills Carnivale in Ferny Hills on the last Saturday of May
- Caboolture Family Fun Day on the Ekka holiday
- Australia Day events in Bribie Island and Redcliffe Peninsula
- Moreton Bay Eco Fest
- Emergency Services Expo alternating between Bribie and a hinterland location around Get Ready QLD Week
- Lunar New Year event in Caboolture CBD on or around the Lunar New Year
- Major children's festival at Pine Rivers Park, Strathpine
- Major community event at Pine Rivers Park, Strathpine
- Four Christmas carol events in Redcliffe, North Lakes, Caboolture and Strathpine in the month before Christmas.
Precinct Events:
- To comprise 24 precinct-based community events across City of Moreton Bay's 12 divisions.
Community Event Support:
- Support hotline and consultancy: Free advice on running events
- Event planning guides and templates: Free resources on planning events
- Database of local event suppliers: Free accessible database of local suppliers accessible by those planning events
Council intends releasing public tender documents to market in “quarter four of the 2024-25 financial year”.
