Deception Bay Doctors will host a community fundraising event next month for the Centre Against Domestic Abuse (CADA).

The Violets not Violence event will be held on June 1 from 10am at 25 Zammit St, Deception Bay.

Deception Bay Doctors surgery is organising the event with Dr Subrat Mishra staging an exhibition of his artwork in keeping with the theme of the day. Artwork will be for sale.

Dr Mishra is an accomplished artist, who has entered his work in the renowned Archibald Prize.

He is urging the community to support the fundraising event, which will also raise awareness of domestic and family violence.

There will also be a baked goods stall, sausage sizzle, craft stalls, lucky prize draw and more.

Entry is $5, but free for children under 10 years of age.
