Wamuran Little Athletics Centre has been given a jump start to the 2024/25 season with $4400 from the Coles Little Athletics Community Fund, for a new line marker.

Based at Wamuran Sports Grounds, the centre was one of 43 recipients from the latest $150,000 round of Coles grants, which has netted clubs more than $2.5 million since 2018.

“Our club is in desperate need of new line marking equipment to paint our track and field lines,” Wamuran Little Athletics centre manager Jacqueline Schulz said.

“Without this equipment we are unable to function as a Little Athletics centre.

“It will ensure clear, visible lines for competitions, reducing time and effort spent on marking and re-marking the track.

“This will allow us to focus more on training and supporting our athletes."

Coles Little Athletics Australia CEO Myles Foreman said the Coles Little Athletics Community Fund has helped more than 480 centres across Australia.

“The funds have helped centres buy a range of new sports equipment such as high jump mats, hurdles and discuses for athletes, as well as equipment for volunteers such as trolleys, laptops and printers,” he said.

Coles has also donated more than five million bananas to help fuel future Aussie athletes since 2017.
