Laceys Hill Distilling Co will be making magic at the Moreton Bay Food + Wine Festival next week.
Distiller John Bradbury say’s he’s delighted to be creating the official Festival cocktail – a Moreton Sunrise – using a botanical gin lovingly crafted from local ingredients.
“It’s a gin that highlights some of the aspects of our local area,” John explains.
“It features Moreton Bay Fig and when you pour it over tonic it turns pink like a Moreton Bay sunrise.”

Adding to the gin’s flavour are citrus and rose petals and John’s planning to garnish the stunning cocktails with locally sourced blueberries and strawberries.
“For me it’s a drink on the back deck, watching over the property.
“We’ll serve it with a wheel of orange – it’s beautifully refreshing.”
Moreton Sunrises will be available at Food + Wine Festival bars and those looking for more Laceys Hill gin-spiration can join John at his ticketed cocktail masterclasses – there’s one on Saturday, August 20 from 6.30-7.15pm and another on Sunday, August 21 from 2.20-3pm.
Tickets to the masterclasses are $90 and include entry to the festival, how to make two fabulous cocktails and a cocktail shaker kit. Get yours here.
