Fitting roles for former students

Two teachers at Caboolture’s St Paul’s Lutheran Primary School have returned to where their education began.

Emily Jones and Jake Randall are excited to be nurturing a new generation of learners at St Paul’s and cherish their memories of time at the school as students.

Emily started at the school in Prep in 2005 and graduated from the Australian Catholic University in 2021, as well as completing Lutheran Accreditation at the Australian Lutheran College.

“I have had a passion for educating young minds since I was in middle school (Year 9),” Emily says.

“I feel passionate about allowing students to express their individuality through learning and providing opportunities for children to become curious and investigative learners.”

Inspiring teachers

Jake was at St Paul’s in the late 1980s and is now one of the school’s Year 6 teachers.

He credits several teachers with igniting his passion for education – including his mum and a high school teacher named Miss Whitehead.

“I remember a wonderful teacher named Mr Bright (at St Paul’s) who was patient and kind,” Jake says.

“I remember the ovals and playtime, playing sports against other schools.

“I enjoyed maths and the small school feel of St Paul’s.”
