Flare night by boat ramp

SES Petrie group will be holding a flare demonstration night, on the foreshore by Dohles Rocks boat ramp, Griffin at the end of this month.

The “flare off”, on Tuesday March 31 from 7-9pm, is for training purposes and for SES Petrie Group members only.

Ron Aquilina, Petrie SES Group Event Coordinator, said red, white and orange flares will be used on the demonstration night.

An event briefing and debriefing are to be held and each participating SES member will do so under supervision.

All appropriate checks will be completed by trained personnel before the flare demonstration takes place.

Aims of the flare demonstration training exercise aims include team building and self-assurance and understanding the dangers of flares on land and water.
