Four charged after break-ins

Police have charged four men following multiple break ins across the Moreton District.

At about 3.30pm on June 5, a grey Mitsubishi Outlander was taken from a property on Tropic St in Morayfield.

A white Chery Omoda station wagon was also reported stolen from an address on Rossini St in Burpengary shortly before 3am on June 6.

Around an hour later, both vehicles were spotted travelling together along King St in Caboolture.

Following investigations, POLAIR tracked the Chery to Narangba where a tyre deflation device was successfully deployed.

One of the occupants allegedly exited the vehicle and fled into bushland at Dean Drive in Burpengary, and was subsequently taken into custody.

The Chery continued southbound on Dean Drive and eventually came to a stop, when the remaining three occupants allegedly fled the scene on foot.

Police Dog Hooper from the Moreton District Dog Squad located one in bushland behind Gympie Rd and a second offender who was hiding behind a water tank also near Gympie Road.

The fourth offender was located by police from the Moreton Tactical Crime Squad near a property on Callaghan Rd in Narangba.

The grey Mitsubishi remains outstanding.

A 20-year-old Caboolture man was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, enter premise and commit indictable offence by break, attempt to enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence, and unlawful possession of weapons.

A 25-year-old Caboolture man was also charged with stealing and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

Both men have been remanded in custody to next face Caboolture Magistrates Court on July 16.

A 19-year-old Kallangur man was charged with enter dwelling and commit, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and obstruct police. He was due to face Caboolture Magistrates Court on June 9.

A 19-year-old Caboolture man has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and obstruct police, and is due to face Caboolture Magistrates Court on July 6.

Investigations are ongoing, and anyone with relevant information or vision is urged to contact police.

Operation Yankee Forge is a six-month, district-led, statewide initiative targeting high-harm and high-volume offences, including unlawful use of motor vehicles, unlawful entry and robbery.

Police regions, supported by specialist squads, will undertake coordinated disruption activities across the state.

Police will target high-harm offenders and work closely with partner agencies to ensure offenders are held accountable.

With a strong focus on crime prevention, police will be highly visible as they prevent, disrupt and investigate offending, with particular emphasis on unlawful use, robbery and unlawful entry.

The operation will be locally led and centrally coordinated, leveraging the knowledge and experience of officers who know their communities best.
