Free Employment Expo to help jobseekers

An Employment Expo will be held at the Caboolture Neighbourhood Centre this week to assist job seekers who are looking to re-enter the workforce or change careers.

A number of small businesses, employment agencies, government and non-government agencies, as well as representatives from the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) and TAFE, will be attending the expo on Thursday, June 16.

The expo is being held by the Community Action for Multicultural Society (CAMS) Program, which is run under the umbrella of the Caboolture Neighbourhood Centre.

Speaking to Moreton Daily, volunteer Carol (last name withheld) is encouraging people who are looking for work to come and find out more information.

“This will be an opportunity to talk to businesses and agencies who are running the stalls to talk about the roles they have on offer, and help you with other particular jobs they have that you might be interested in,” Carol said.

“Come on down, have a look around, ask lots of questions, and find out what is required for gaining employment.”

The Employment Expo will be held from 10am-1pm.

There will be entertainment for both kids and adults, as well as light refreshments.

Entry is free and no bookings are required.
