Bulls Masters could return to the region after the success of Friday’s T20 match to celebrate the centenary of the Warehouse Cricket Association.

The match, at Peninsula Cricket Club, was played under the new Filmer Park floodlights funded by the Queensland Government and Moreton Bay Regional Council.

Around 500 spectators enjoyed a great night's entertainment on and off the field, with KC’s Fireworks a feature of the mid-innings break.

Bulls Masters, a team of past and present Australia and Queensland stars who support communities and fundraising, were so impressed they are looking to return in 2023.

Tribute to legends

Batting first, the visitors scored 175 in their 20 overs, with Nathan Reardon (65), Bryce Street (34) and Cameron Boyce (28) leading the way.

Tom English 2/11 and Chris Allison 2/6 were the pick of the Warehouse bowling attack, with superb fielding from Tom English and Hayden Marks.

Hayden Marks - grandson of Jim Marks who started the club with brother Stan, both are life members - was the backbone of the Warehouse reply hitting 34 in a total of 127.

Before the match, both teams and spectators paid tribute to two Australian cricket legends Rod Marsh and Shane Warne who passed away recently.

Jim Marks did the coin toss before play started.

Local junior organiser Darren Wheeler was recognised by Queensland Cricket with a Volunteer of the Year award and will be one of 10 from around the state who will be guests at the Bulls Awards in April.

Both teams were awarded souvenir medallions, including player-of-the-match Nathan Reardon.

Bulls Master’s captain Jimmy Maher signed the match ball and congratulated Warehouse on 100 years of organised Community Cricket in South East Queensland.
