Waraba will soon have its first essential community facilities at Lilywood Landings, the gateway to Moreton Bay's newest City.

A childcare centre, swim school, service station and car wash facility have been approved by Moreton Bay City Council, in a milestone for the development.

The childcare centre will have a capacity for 135 children in a 1100sqm building on the corner of Springvale St and Lilywood Blvd.

An adjoining swim school will have parking for 57 cars, the service station and car wash will be on Lilywood Blvd and there’s room for a 300sqm gym.

Lilywood Landings sits at the gateway to Waraba, formerly Caboolture West, and will provide more than 700 new homes on completion.

Lennium Group Development Manager Ian Worthington said construction of the new amenities is to start next year.

“The addition of these amenities reflects the broader vision for Waraba as a connected, self-sufficient, and family-friendly city," he said.

Waraba will eventually have a town centre with a Coles supermarket on Caboolture River Rd, speciality stores and a liquor retail outlet.

Lilywood Landings is close to schools, sports clubs and recreation areas and with Waraba a State Government Priority Development Area, investment is ongoing.

Land in the first two stages has sold out, construction of the first homes is to start soon with the next land release due in March.

Tom Brownlie and Meg Cornhill, who live at Bellmere with four-year-old daughter Marley, have bought a four-bedroom home and will get the keys next year.

Meg said: “We are all excited about moving to the area. It looks like it’s going to be stunning.

“Marley is starting school next year and will be going to Bellmere State School, which is only a short drive away.”
