Major work to start on Caboolture Hospital upgrade

The $394.6 million redevelopment of Caboolture Hospital is gathering pace with major construction work about to start.

To prepare the site, the public carpark and main entry into the hospital will be moved to the back of the hospital.

From Monday September 21, all non-urgent patients, visitors and hospital staff will enter through this temporary main entry.

This includes a new patient drop-off/pick-up zone, information booth, food truck, maps and signage, to navigate the new entry point.

New entry

Patients and visitors arriving by car should enter on the access road from the roundabout on Mewett St and continue past the temporary staff carpark.

The public carpark can also be entered from Bury St (off Charles/Manley St).

Emergency drop-off will still be at the front of the hospital with vehicle access via McKean St. It is expected this continue until late 2022.

By 2023, there will be a new five-storey clinical services building, 130 new beds, refurbished areas of the existing hospital, expanded health services and a new multi-storey carpark.

This is to meet the expected 51 per cent population growth in the Caboolture area by 2031.

Metro North Hospital and Health Service is delivering the Caboolture Hospital Redevelopment and has appointed Lendlease Building as the managing contractor.
