Make a difference on National Tree Day
Published 5:01am 22 July 2025
More than 150 volunteers are expected to help plant 4000 native trees, shrubs and vines on National Tree Day this weekend.
National Tree Day is on Sunday, July 27, 2025. In previous years, more than 150 people have volunteered to help and Moreton Bay City Council is hoping even more will help out this year.
Mayor Peter Flannery says National Tree Day is a great way for people to do something positive for their environment, while learning more about the natural spaces around them.
“Whether you're a seasoned volunteer or it's your first time, everyone is welcome to plant some native trees with us this National Tree Day,” he says.
“Come prepared for the outdoors in your sun-safe kit with closed-in shoes and we’ll take care of the rest, including a well-earned and delicious sausage sizzle for our incredible volunteers.
“Protecting our green spaces is something we all have a role in, and National Tree Day is a fantastic opportunity to do that in a hands-on way. Whether you're planting one tree or 10, you're helping to strengthen local ecosystems and shape the future of our natural environment.”
National Tree Day 2025 events will take place from 9-11am at:
• John H Walker Reserve, 3 Sally Crt, Warner
• Bubke Crescent, 41 Bubke Cres, Caboolture
• Sir Dapper Drive Park, 48 Sir Dapper Drive Park, Burpengary
