The finalists for the 2022 Moreton Bay Business & Innovation Awards have been announced ahead of the gala awards night in October.

The high calibre of nominations meant the 44 judges had to work hard to determine the 68 finalists across 15 categories, including three new categories.

The winners will be announced during the gala awards evening, which will be held on Friday, October 21 at the Eatons Hill Hotel grand ballroom.

Head to the website for details and tickets.

The Moreton Bay Business and Innovation Awards are presented by Moreton Bay Regional Council and delivered by Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism (MBRIT).

MBRIT CEO and Founder Shane Newcombe says each finalist should be congratulated on their achievements in challenging times.

|“It’s fantastic to see local businesses and business leaders seek recognition for their hard work. They have continued to prosper and fly the Moreton Bay flag on a regional, national and international stage,” Mr Newcombe says.|

“We are looking forward to coming together with the business community to celebrate and recognise their achievements at the gala awards evening.

“For many, 2022 has been the toughest year of all, which began with high COVID cases, staff shortages and floods. Each finalist continues to demonstrate their resilience and perseverance in the face of ongoing economic uncertainty.”

Finalists shine

Moreton Bay Regional Council Mayor Peter Flannery says this year’s impressive list of finalists was testament to their triumph in the face of adversity.

“These business leaders have managed to rise above seemingly impossible odds to innovate and thrive, which is something truly worth celebrating,” Mayor Flannery says.

“These awards are a celebration of our 29,000 strong business community across a range of categories including youth innovation and customer service, to key priority industries linked to our Regional Economic Development Strategy (REDS).

“Combining the resilience of our local businesses with the policy settings of our REDS, I believe Moreton Bay will be a powerhouse of investment prior to the Olympics to ensure the eyes of the world look to our region come 2032.

|“We have weathered the toughest storms in recent years, now it’s time to bounce back with a sense of optimism and ambition to take Moreton Bay to the next level.|

“I know the businesses that these awards celebrate are the kind of thinkers who’ll help us all do exactly that.”
