Moreton Bay Regional Council Christmas closures

Moreton Bay Regional Council’s administration and customer service centres will close from 5pm on Friday, December 23 and reopen at 8.30am on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.

Council’s call centre will continue to operate, including responding to emergency matters on (07) 3205 0555 or 1300 477 161.

Household waste collection will continue as normal, while selected council venues including libraries, galleries, museums, swimming pools and waste facilities will also operate for periods of the closure.

When other council facilities are closed

Dakabin animal shelter and stockyard (RSPCA) and council's pound:

Closed Sunday, December 25; Monday, December 26; Sunday, January 1. Normal operating hours apply all other days.

Galleries and museums:

Bribie Island Seaside Museum - Closed December 24-27; and January 1-3.

Caboolture Regional Art Gallery – Closed December 24-27; and January 1-2.

Pine Rivers Art Gallery - Closed December 24-27; and January 1-3.

Pine Rivers Heritage Museum – Closed December 24-27; and January 1-3.

Redcliffe Art Gallery - Closed December 24-27; and January 1-2.

Redcliffe Museum – Closed December 24-27; and January 1-3.

Libraries:

All the region’s libraries are closed from 1pm on December 24 to December 27. They are also closed January 1-2.

The Mobile Library will be closed from December 25-27 and from January 1-2.

Pools and leisure centres:

Albany Creek Leisure Centre - Closed Christmas Day

Bribie Island Aquatic Leisure Centre - Closed Christmas Day

Burpengary Regional Aquatic Leisure Centre - Closed Christmas Day

Caboolture pool and fitness centre - Closed Christmas Day

Dayboro swimming pool - Closed Christmas Day

Deception Bay Aquatic and Fitness Centre - Closed Christmas Day

Ferny Hills swimming pool - Closed Christmas Day

Lawnton swimming complex - Closed Christmas Day

Murrumba Downs swimming pool - Closed Christmas Day

North Lakes Aquatic Centre - Closed Christmas Day

Redcliffe War Memorial Pool - Closed Christmas Day

Samford swimming pool - Closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and December 27; and January 1-2

Settlement Cove lagoon - Open to the public 24 hours a day, all year round. Lifeguards operate Monday to Sunday: 7am- 6pm.

Woodford swimming pool - Closed Christmas Day

Redcliffe Entertainment Centre: Closed from Monday, December 19 to noon on Friday, January 27, 2023.

Waste and recycling centres: Head to the website to check individual facilities’ opening hours. All are closed on Christmas Day.

Caboolture Hub Learning & Business Centre: Closed from 5pm on Friday, December 23 to 8am on Tuesday, January 3.

Environmental centres:

Caboolture Region Environmental Education Centre - Closed Monday, December 19, reopening Monday, January 9. Surrounding picnic areas, playgrounds and bushwalks remain open. The CREEC Community Nursery will be closed during this time.

Osprey House - Closed from 4pm on Friday, December 16 and re-opening on Monday, January 9. Surrounding picnic areas and boardwalks remain open seven days a week.

Kumbartcho Sanctuary - Closed Tuesday, December 20, reopening Tuesday, January 10. The Pine Rivers Nursery will be closed from noon on December 24, reopening on January 3. The Surrounding picnic areas, playgrounds and bushwalks remain open.

Morayfield Sport & Events Centre: Closed from 5pm Thursday, December 22 to 8am Tuesday, January 3.

Queensland State Equestrian Centre (QSEC): closed from noon on Friday, December 23 to 8am on Tuesday, January 3.
