Moreton Kids Festival delayed due to flooding
Words by Kylie Knight

The organisers of Moreton Kids Festival have been forced to reschedule the event following recent flooding at the venue Pine Rivers Park, Strathpine.

After extensive consultation it was deemed that the event site and the surrounding roads have suffered significant damage and will not recover before March 13, the date the event was due to be held.

It has been rescheduled and will now go ahead on May 22 at Pine Rivers Park from 8am-3pm.

Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism CEO Shane Newcombe, whose organisation runs the event which is supported by Moreton Bay Regional Council and Strathpine Centre, said it was a tough but necessary decision.

“The safety of our patrons will always come first and we thank them for their patience and understanding,” Mr Newcombe said.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and hope families can attend this wonderful event on the new scheduled date.”

What’s next?

Event organisers will be contacting all ticketholders to outline their options.

For those who can attend the event on May 22, no action is required – their tickets will be transferred over to the new date.

Those who cannot attend on the new date, can request a refund on their tickets.

Visit moretonkidsfestival.com.au/moreton-kids-festival-postponed-date prior to Wednesday, March 16 to request a refund. After this date all remaining tickets not refunded will be automatically transferred to the new date.

Please note that no refunds will be processed after the deadline date. Please allow up to 14 days for refunds to be processed.
